We defend human rights and promote effective policies to prevent and respond to gender-based violence.

How do we do it

GENFAMI works on the influence and technical improvement of public policies and entities that have a significant social impact, focusing especially on gender and human rights issues. Through knowledge and evidence building, we collaborate with key actors in the prevention and care of victims, as well as with those working on the ground in humanitarian emergency contexts.

Objective

Our goal is to expand our influence to promote an increasing number of public and private entities, at local, national, and international levels, to incorporate elements of protection and empowerment for women, girls, boys, and adolescents, as well as psychosocial, human rights, and gender approaches in addressing social issues.

Incident Log

Through an advocacy agenda, we seek to strengthen the leadership of local women's organizations. We collaborate in violence prevention and victim support, promoting public policies and programs that foster a life free from violence, and influencing budgetary decisions to support the integral development of women, girls, boys, and adolescents.

Our advocacy efforts are carried out at both the local and national levels, with a particular focus on Bogotá. Additionally, we have expanded our reach internationally, participating in forums related to humanitarian action and other relevant areas for seeking solutions.

Likewise, through an advocacy agenda, we seek to strengthen the voice and leadership of Local Women's Organizations. We research, study, and intervene in advocacy topics, collaborating with stakeholders involved in the prevention and care of victims, as well as with those facing critical situations on the ground. We use this knowledge to promote public policies, programs, and projects, as well as to influence decisions on the budget allocated to promoting a life free from violence and the full potential of women, girls, boys, and adolescents.
