Strengthening, technical development
and knowledge management
We empower capabilities and knowledge to confront gender-based violence, developing technical tools and evidence-based strategies.
How do we do it
We build technical guidelines, protocols, documents, and applied research so that, based on evidence, we can intervene in the technical, corporate, and psychosocial strengthening of institutional processes for social organizations, government entities, and private companies.
Strengthening social processes is a strategic dimension for Genfami, as it aims to reinforce the capacities for empowerment in human rights, organization, and network formation, surrounding the prevention and exercise of the right to a life free from violence for girls, children, adolescents, and women.
Shoulder to shoulder with social organizations
GENFAMI collaborates with social organizations in humanitarian emergency contexts to strengthen their technical, corporate, and advocacy capacities, focusing on the prevention and response to gender-based violence. Through four methodological axes (organizational, administrative, psychosocial, leadership, and technical strengthening), organizations acquire tools to improve their collective action, leadership, and resource management, promoting their participation in humanitarian planning and strengthening local leadership.
Institutional Strengthening and Modernization
GENFAMI offers strengthening and updating services for professionals and institutions, focused on improving risk mitigation and integral attention to gender-based violence in a dignified and appropriate manner. Through training and technical support, the capacities of key entities in the health, protection, and justice sectors are strengthened, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting their commitment to building a society that is equal and free from gender-based violence. GENFAMI She also has extensive experience in inter-institutional and inter-sectoral coordination.
Among our institutional strengthening services, you will find the following:

Knowledge management
GENFAMI dedicates significant efforts to research and knowledge management. In this regard, we work both individually and in collaboration with peer organizations, professional and academic associations, and allied entities. For over fifteen years of work, we have accumulated direct experience with public and private actors, as well as with communities at the local, regional, and national levels throughout much of the national territory.
This work is essential for GENFAMI, as it allows us to develop evidence-based technical knowledge and thus create innovative interventions in areas related to gender, mental health, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, and public health. In my own capacity, as well as in collaboration with public and private entities, organizations, professional associations, academic institutions, and allied entities, we dedicate part of our efforts to knowledge creation. This is done based on our experience working directly with institutions, key stakeholders, and communities, addressing their realities, needs, and interests at the local, departmental, national, regional, and global levels.

Shoulder to shoulder with social organizations
Genfami works with social organizations operating in humanitarian emergency contexts to promote their technical, corporate, and advocacy capacity building, with the goal of fostering prevention, risk mitigation, and response to gender-based violence.
In this line of work, the participating social organizations in the project acquire tools to develop their individual and collective capacities, aimed at reframing their lives and strengthening their organizations, as well as their capacity for action and decision-making.
To achieve these objectives, interventions are developed along four methodological axes: organizational, administrative, and financial; psychosocial; leadership and participation; and technical strengthening.
Furthermore, the active participation of women's organizations in humanitarian planning is promoted, strengthening their local leadership, sustaining their actions, and consolidating their internal processes to improve their technical, administrative, and financial agency, thereby facilitating better mobilization and management of resources and funding sources.
Institutional Strengthening and Modernization
With the conviction that achieving a society that is egalitarian and free from violence requires strong, supportive, and inclusive institutions, Genfami has developed a series of services aimed at strengthening and upgrading professionals and officials from intersectoral institutions and groups to improve risk mitigation and comprehensive care for gender-based violence in an integrated, dignified, humane, and technically appropriate manner.
We provide training and technical strengthening to entities and key actors who provide services for victims of gender-based violence, including coordinating mechanisms and providers of health, protection, and justice services. We promote institutional capacities to comply with current regulations, as well as to commit them to fulfilling their role in building a society that is equal, inclusive, and free from gender-based violence.
Likewise, regarding the strengthening of institutional processes and management, Genfami has extensive experience in inter-institutional and inter-sectoral coordination.
In summary, our institutional strengthening services include the following:
- Promotion of non-discriminatory human relations and the equal development of men's and women's potential.
- Creation of prevention plans, protocols, and care, accompaniment, and support pathways for survivors of gender-based violence, including sexual violence.
