We promote psychosocial well-being and community resilience through comprehensive interventions and direct support in contexts of gender-based violence.

How do we do it
GENFAMI works on the influence and technical improvement of public policies and entities that have a significant social impact, focusing especially on gender and human rights issues. Through knowledge and evidence building, we collaborate with key actors in the prevention and care of victims, as well as with those working on the ground in humanitarian emergency contexts.
Throughout fifteen years of work, GENFAMI has established a solid technical infrastructure to address gender-based violence in vulnerable populations affected by humanitarian contexts. These interventions focus mainly on aspects of gender, security, peace, human mobility, and emergencies.
We have developed and validated a series of psychosocial intervention methodologies and protocols, promotion of sexual rights, and prevention of gender-based violence in communities, groups, and community-based organizations.
Using psychosocial and intersectional approaches, our work focuses on emotional recovery, strengthening self-confidence, and individuals' ability to regain control over their lives. Furthermore, we aim to promote their decision-making capacity, autonomy, and negotiation skills.
